Excursion

Birdwatching

In the surroundings of Puerto Varas there are several ecosystems that offer excellent conditions for observing numerous species of birds. With our team of specialists we go to nearby wetlands and native forest sectors to observe and learn about their general characteristics, in the midst of wonderful landscapes.

We will walk quietly in the forest to find pairs of magellanic woodpeckers, chilean flickers, thorn-tailed rayaditos, and -with patience and some luck- the Green Backed Fire Crown Hummingbird, or ground dwelling birds such as the Chucao Tapaculo or the Black-Throaed Huet Huet.

In wetlands we will come across neotropics cormorants, red-gartered coots, black-crowned night herons, cocoi and great egrets, chiloe wigeons, and yellow-billed pintails, among others.

Full-day excursion designed for curious people who want to live different experiences in nature and for more experienced birdwatching enthusiasts
