On this excursion we will get to know part of the flora and fauna of the temperate rainforest, a characteristic ecosystem of this region of the world. We will observe the geomorphology of the landscape through its surrounding valleys, lakes, rivers and volcanoes. We will also give a brief geological talk about the Osorno and Calbuco Volcanoes

Excursion Description: We head east along a beautiful road next to Llanquihue Lake with views of the Osorno, Calbuco and Puntiagudo volcanoes. Once inside the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park we have our first stop: Laguna Verde.
This lagoon owes its color to the presence of microalgae in suspension and is surrounded by a dense native forest. After a short walk we will look for a quiet place to listen in silence to the sound of the forest and do some brief breathing exercises to start the day with energy.

The next stop is Los Saltos del Petrohué, located in the heart of the park. We walk along one of its trails to get to know some plant species and learn in a general way how they interact with other living beings, along with contemplating the beauty of the place

Then, heading east along Route 225 we arrive at Lake Todos Los Santos to learn a little about its stories and make a half-hour navigation along its shores to appreciate the fauna of the lake and observe the extraordinary view of the volcanoes and Santo Domingo Range

It's time for lunch!!

Back along the same route, we head towards Ensenada to enjoy the benefits of the local gastronomy to go to our last stop: The Osorno Volcano

On a steep paved route we ascend the slopes of the volcano through lush vegetation until we reach the Osorno Volcano Mountain Center, which functions as a ski center in winter. Before reaching the center we will see how the vegetation changes from the evergreen forest to deciduous forest to end up in shrubby vegetation and tiny plants.

Osorno is an active volcano and, in addition to its main crater, it has more than 20 auxiliary craters.

In a trekking of approximately 20 minutes we will visit one of them. The Red Crater. The trail has no technical difficulty and as you walk the views of Lake Llanquihue, Calbuco Volcano and the Petrohue Valley will be more and more impressive.

Once we reach the crater, we'll carry out the geological talk focused on the Osorno and Calbuco Volcano, including the Huilliche narratives that exist around them.

We can also combine the hike with an ascent or descent using the mountain center's chairlifts, which operate year round when weather permits.
